Continuous Support Throughout Pregnancy

The Pocket Midwife can offer continuity of care from the booking of your pregnancy right through until your baby is 2 weeks old. Currently, NHS maternity services are stretched and so it struggles to provide the continuity aspect of maternity care. I will bridge that gap within your NHS care to provide continuous physical and emotional reassurance.

You can ask me any question via WhatsApp or arrange a time to have a chat at your convenience. I can guide you through your pregnancy journey, signposting you to the information or tools that are specific to you. The continuity of support from myself, an experienced Midwife, will make your pregnancy journey a relaxed one. The package will ensure you feel calm, well supported and excited as the big day approaches.

It doesn’t stop there! You’ll have my support and reassurance for another two weeks into parenthood. At your postnatal visit, we can discuss all about your birth ( I love a birth story!) and also carry out a full postnatal check for yourself and your new baby.

What does this look like?

  1. Initial Zoom consultation so we can ‘meet’ face to face

    I like to get to know my clients as soon as possible so a relationship can start to build from the very start.

  2. WhatsApp support 7 days a week
  3. Zoom birth preferences discussion at around 32 weeks

    Following on from your antenatal classes, this can be an ideal time to answer any last-minute questions and ensure you feel prepared for labour and birth.

  4. Antenatal home visit at 36-37 weeks pregnant

    Full check-up in your own home at a time to suit you.

  5. Postnatal home visit within the first few days of baby’s arrival

* Terms and Conditions

1. If you have concerns with the following:

  • Vaginal bleeding
  • Waters breaking
  • Reduced fetal movements (>24 weeks)

Please go straight into triage at the hospital and DO NOT wait for my response.

2. Please be aware that at some stage during the pregnancy I will take 2 weeks holiday and, in this time, I will be unable to respond to messages. I will give you as much notice as possible.
